Founded in November 2021, the Centre for Studies on Foreign Language Education (CSFLE) aims to improve the quality of foreign language education. At the moment the centre is concerned with English and Japan languages. It seeks to conduct and facilitate research, and make recommendations to concerning parties and stakeholders to take up foreign language education in Indonesia in particular.
The mission of CSFLE is to become a reputable research centre of foreign language education which can contribute to the development of foreign language theories and instruction. With this mission, CSFLE attempts to contribute to the enhancement of the research and the implementation English and Japan language instruction in schools and higher education. It also seeks to form a more vigorous English and Japan language community in Indonesia and to extend collaborations with research centres and universities in Indonesia and other countries. Its work covers all aspects dealing with foreign language education which can be classified into:

- Language Assessment
- Materials Development
- Instructional Media
- IT in language education
- Teacher Professional Development
To accomplish its mission, CSFLE operates on its initiative. It is also available for consultation by schools and institutions involved in the development of foreign language education.
